Slow Recovery

My uncle is doing better- he is awake and alert (as much as he can be while sedated- he is still sedated because they haven't taken him off the ventilator). They are planning to take him off the ventilator later today. More updates later.

I'm glad he's doing better. How long will he be in CO Springs?

Origianlly when he was going to have surgery on Monday they told him he'd probably be home by Sunday. So since he had surgery on Tuesday, we are figuring he'll be home Monday or Tuesday- depending on how well he bounces back. He does have a low grade fever right now, which is normal. They just have to watch to make sure it doesn't spike, and such... But he has to learn to get out of bed without using his arms to push himself up (because they broke his sternum to get in his chest, he can't put pressure on those bones for at least six weeks- and pushing up out of bed could seperate it again) and other things like that which you would have never thought would go along with open-heart surgery.
